Pattaya city is a popular weekend getaway for locals and tourists. It is located at the Eastern Gulf Coast of Thailand and it is about 150km away from southeast of Bangkok. The travel time is around 2 hours from Bangkok.

Pattaya’s main attraction is its red-light district areas (i.e. go-go bars and beer bars). Its beaches may not be the main reason for tourists to visit this city as the beaches are not as clean as other cities'. Nevertheless, there are some sightseeing places that are worth to explore.

Modern Photo Shooting Places:


1) Mimosa Pattaya (“The City of Love”)


This is a European-style park launched on 14 February 2012. The reason it was named “The City of Love” because the aim of the owner of this park who is a Shemale is to give shelter protection to ex-Tiffany Pageants who are old and have been abandoned.

There will be daily dancing performances at 6.30pm, 7.45pm and 9.30pm at the open-air musical fountain area.

However, there are always complaints about the superb high entrance fee charged on tourists at Mimosa Pattaya.

2) Teddy Bear Museum Pattaya (North Pattaya)


The museum is divided into 14 zones consists of two floors. More than 2,000 teddy bears in different sizes are on display at different decorations and themes.







How to get there?

Captain Teddy Bear and Friends Show - Saturday and Sunday: 2pm, 3pm, 4pm

3) Art in Paradise Pattaya (North Pattaya)


The art gallery is filled with creative, colourful 3D art by South Korean artists. With the help of 3D paintings and some trick photography, it will look like you are interacting with the pictures.


How to get there?
- By mini-bus (Songthaew) : Take mini-bus to go to Pattaya Second Road and the Art in Paradise Pattaya located near Big C Supercenter.
- By car : You can go directly to the museum and you can park your vehicle around the museum.

4) The Bottle Art Museum (North Pattaya)


Mr Peter, Dutch origin, many years immersed in the art of glass, working 14 hours a day, crafted various scenes around the world and assembled them into small glass bottles. There are more than 300 pieces of handmade glass art in the museum.

The museum is located at km145 off Highway No. 3

5) Mini Siam & Mini Europe (North Pattaya)


It is a miniature town that displays historical sites of different cultures and civilizations of various periods from the ancient time till present. More than 100 models, from the Great Wall of China to the Eiffel Tower, each on a scale of 1:25, are displayed in an area of 29 rai, surrounded by natural setting.

Sightseeing:


1) Pattaya Hill (Khao Phra Bat) (South Pattaya)


Khao Pattaya Viewpoint is a small hilltop that offers spectacular panoramic views of Pattaya city. The sacred Wat Kho Phra Bat temple is also located on the hill and is one of the major attractions here. 

A photographer’s delight, Khao Pattaya Viewpoint is also the perfect spot to enjoy magnificent views of Pattaya Bay.



How to get there?
The location of the hill is very near to the city, approximately 2 kilometers from South Pattaya.

From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right at the road sign to South Pattaya. 
Turn left at the first traffic light, continue until reaching a-5-way intersection. 
Turn left to Phratamnak Rd. and turn right again towards Royal Cliff Beach Garden Resort. 

Opening hours: 07.00 am. - 10.00 am.

Admission: Free




2) Nong Nooch Tropical Garden & Resort


Nong Nooch is world renowned for its impressive Elephant and Thai Cultural Shows, along
with what is largely considered the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast
Asia.





How to get there?

It is located 18 km from the entrance to South Pattaya, turn left from Sukhumvit Rd. at km 163 marker, continue about 3.5 km.

Admission: Adult: THB400 Baht. The ticket include cultural performances and elephant show.



3) Pattaya Floating Market


Pattaya Floating Market is separated into 4 sections selling items from four major parts of Thailand (north, northeast, central and south). There are stalls selling eateries, fruits, souvenirs and art items. There is also a cultural show every afternoon.

How to get there?

There are also buses available for visitors to go Pattaya Floating Market. However, there are only 5 times a day (every 2 hours). 

For taking a bus to the floating market, this could be the cheapest choice for visitors, approximately 20 baht, but visitors might need to check the time table of the beach bus services in order to know what time the bus will arrive at their closest bus stop. 

In the case that visitors are impatient, you may go to the Floating Market by metered taxi or Song Thaew, but you may need to pay higher.

4) Ripley's Believe It or Not! (Central Pattaya)

15 minute drive from Pattaya.

Operating Hours: 
Daily from 08:00 am. - 06:30 pm. 
Crocodile Shows: 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2.20pm, 3.30pm and 5pm.


Admission Fee: Adult THB300 ; Child THB150





6) Sriracha Tiger Zoo




How to get there?

7) Pattaya Elephant Village






How to get there?
Located on Phonpraphanimit Road, which is off of Highway No.3 at Km. 145.

Opening Hours: 11:00 am - 10:00 pm.


Admission Fee: 
650 Baht for elephant show, 
1,000 - 1,200 Baht for elephant trekking
2,000 Baht for combination tour

How to go to Pattaya from Bangkok?


1) Taxi

       - Official fare: THB1500 excludes expressway fees (around THB600)


2) Air-conditional Buses


(i) Eastern Bus Terminal
       - Is located adjacent to the Ekkamai BTS station on Sukhumvit Road at Soi 63 (Soi Ekkamai)
       - Frequency: depart every 30 minutes between 05:20 and 23:20
       - Fare: TBH117

(ii) Northern Bus Terminal 
       - Is located at Mochit
       - Frequency: depart every 30 minutes between 05:30 and 22:00
       - Fare: THB117

(iii) Southern Bus Terminal
       - Is located at Sai Tai Mai (nearby Khao San Road area) - take a 511 bus on Rachdamnoen Road 
          headed across the river and get off at the end of the line.
       - Frequency: depart at 05:30, 08:30, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:30

(iv) Suvarnabhumi Airport
       - Look for “Suvarnabhumi – Pattaya” counter (Roong Reuang Coach Co Ltd)
       - Board the bus at Level 1 Gate 7-8, counter opens at 7:00 and end at 22:00
       - Frequency: depart every hour
       - Fare: THB134 per person

(v) Don Mueang Airport
       - Look for “Don Mueang – Mo Chit Bus” signage, take the A1 bus
       - Fare: THB30 per person
       - Then, follow Northern Bus Terminal above
       - Fare: THB117 per person


3) Mini Van

       - Offered by Travel agencies and hotels around Bangkok.
       - Hotel pick up service available.
       - Fare: around THB400 per person


4) Train

       - There is a third class train from Hualamphong Station and it travels during weekdays to Pattaya.
       - Frequency: depart at 6:50am, need 3 hours to arrive Pattaya
       - Fare: THB31 per person
