Street Art grows rapidly in Malaysia followed by
the debug of street art in Penang by Lithuanian artist Emest
Zacharevic in year 2012.
In year 2013 and 2014, the Shah Alam city
government has initiated street art projects by engaging university students and
local artists to beautify the back alleys. The walls of the ordinary back
alleys are transformed into creative art street that portray the culture of the
city.
The objectives of these projects are to express
the appreciation towards the city’s residents and to change the public’s
perception towards back alley.
There are 2 back alley areas in Shah Alam which
have been beautified, namely:
(i) Seksyen 2
(ii) Seksyen 7
Seksyen 2 was covered in Part 1 of Street Art Shah Alam while Seksyen 7
is covered in this post.
